Every week we search for interesting stories about cats and their owners. This week we spoke with Taylah, who lives in Darwin, Northern Territory, Australia, with her two cats Ralph and Judy. Both were adopted from the shelter, and Taylah knows one thing for sure: she will never live her life without cats again.
Taylah has always had cats in her life, but since she started living with her partner, she no longer had any. One day, they decided to take a look at their local shelter. "We left without kittens," says Taylah. Or so she thought... Her partner decided to surprise her with one! "I came home later that day and discovered that my partner had brought adopter Ralph home."
Finding a friend
A year later, they felt that Ralph could use a friend. So they went to a shelter and decided to adopt Judy, who was named after Judge Judy. "My cats mean everything to me. I would be completely lost without them! I will have cats until I die."
I have a bed, but I prefer to lie in yours
Her cats not only have their own room, but of course also a cat tree. "We have the Kilimanjaro," says Taylah. "Judy's favorite place to sleep and lie down is on the second highest level of the tree.
Although they have their own room and cat tree, they still love to snuggle up with my partner and me at night. Usually, they lie between my partner and me, wrapped in one (or both) arms."

Just like sisters
Every week we search for interesting stories about cats and their owners. This week we ended up in the United Kingdom with Sophie. Although her two short-haired house cats are not from the same litter, they behave as if they are. However, since August ’22, Sophie has added a new member to the family.
