A wolf with grey hair
Chris himself did not choose the name Wolfie. ‘The breeder's son named him Wolfie because he thought he looked like a Wolf. I thought the name did suit him, so I decided to keep it.’ Wolfie certainly has similarities to a wolf, not only because he is a Maine Coon, but also because of the colour of his fur. ‘There is also a resemblance between us, as we both have grey hair,’ Chris says with a laugh.

When I saw him I knew he would cause trouble
Chris instantly fell in love when he saw a picture of Wolfie. ‘It was funny that of all the kittens the breeder had, Wolfie was the one running around like crazy, playing and attacking toys while the others slept peacefully. I told the breeder that he would obviously cause problems since he was so active. She assured me that he was the same as the other kittens and that when they woke up, he would sleep. The roles would then be reversed.’

Wolfie has the Chartreux Blackline in Dark Grey, but we're not sure if that's enough... "The great thing about buying a RHR Pets cat tree is that not only are they well made and look great, but they also come with a free cardboard box. I've had my cat tree for almost two months now and I still haven't thrown away the cardboard box. He continues to play with it every day. I think he would be very upset if I threw him away," said Chris.

Cats don't respond to ‘no’
Tips and tricks
Wolfie is only 25 weeks old, but he already knows a few tricks. Chris has already taught him to sit and lie down, but he can also high and low five! He is also gradually starting to succeed in retrieving.

Having a kitten in the house is often hard work, but Chris couldn't live without Wolfie. ‘He has huge bursts of energy and he likes to pounce on things, but I have come to understand him,’ says Chris. ‘I read a lot about cats to get to know him better, because they don't really respond to ‘no’. I came to understand that all these things are natural kitten behaviour. So you can also put in ‘playtime’, that way you exhaust them.’
Wolfie loves being involved in everything Chris does, as he even goes to the smallest room with him at the same time! ‘I remember one time I was looking for him everywhere and couldn't find him. He ended up standing on top of my bedroom door watching me look for him!’, Chris says, laughing.
Born model
In addition to his love for Wolfie, Chris also has a passion for animal photography. Ideal combination if you ask me! "I don't think Wolfie realizes how many photo shoots he will have to endure... But at the moment he is doing very well."
You can admire Chris's photos on his Instagram account.
"Wolfie is a constant source of entertainment and always makes me laugh. He is so sweet and affectionate and always in the mood for a cuddle. It's so nice to see his face when I get home," says Chris.
