Do you also have a cat who thinks they run the house? Then you’ll probably recognise the stories from our own RHR team. At RHR Pets, everything revolves around cats — and we mean that quite literally. From Maine Coons who act like dogs to European Shorthairs who shower with their owners, our cats are just as cheeky as any other. In this blog, we’ll take you behind the scenes and introduce you to the true inspiration behind RHR: our cats.

Whether you’re curious about the funniest cat moments, their quirkiest habits or which scratching posts they love most: you’ll find it all here.

Meet the RHR Cat Team!

Foxy & Smokey – Mandy’s cuddle bugs

Mandy is never alone at home: Foxy (4) and Smokey (1) follow her everywhere. Foxy is her little shadow: she joins her in the bathroom, curls up in bed at night and is so clumsy at times she’s more like a dog than a cat. Smokey, on the other hand, is the chatterbox. She always has something to say and seems to hold full-on conversations with Mandy. Their favourite spot? The Royalty Blackline Plus (Pistachio Teddy) — the perfect place to lounge up high, peek outside and nap for hours.

Guus & Simba – Marijke’s total opposites

Marijke’s home is shared by two completely different cats. Guus, a young Maine Coon mix, is the clown of the pair. He drags empty toilet rolls through the house and turns the living room into his playground. Simba, an eight-year-old European Shorthair, is the complete opposite: calm, independent, and with a definite “I’ll cuddle when I feel like it” attitude. Despite their differences, they’re the best of friends and often race through the house together. Their shared favourite? The Tower — Guus climbs and plays, while Simba simply lounges and sunbathes.

Frenkie & Izzie – Nena’s mischievous duo

Nena’s cats, Frenkie and Izzie, turn every day into an adventure. Frenkie is stubborn and alert but incredibly sweet. Izzie is the affectionate one — playful and always up to something. Their most legendary moment? When Frenkie accidentally locked Nena out on the roof. He was so enthusiastically headbutting the door that it clicked shut — leaving Nena stuck in the rain at 11:30 p.m. for an hour and a half. Luckily, the pair also have a calm side: they love chilling together in their Maine Coon Lounge (Blackline Light Grey) — perched up high like it’s their throne.

Did you know that behind (almost) every RHR team member hides a cat (or two) who “helps” us test our products and even inspires us?

Tijger & Lio – Mitchell’s bathroom buddy & laser addict

Mitchell’s cats, Tijger and Lio, couldn’t be more different. Tijger is a gentle giant who can be a bit insecure. However, one thing’s for sure: he loves showering. The moment the tap turns on, he’s under it as if it’s a spa ritual. Lio, on the other hand, is pure energy, obsessed with the laser pointer and happy to spend hours in his hammock. Their ultimate playground? The Cat Penthouse — a mix of scratching barrel, sisal posts, hammocks and lounging spots. In short, everything a cat could ever want.

Jorg and his cats Piet & Chilli

It’s rarely quiet in Jorg’s house. His cats, Piet and Chilli (both European Shorthairs), are inseparable and constantly on the move. They sprint through the house, challenge each other, and turn every room into a playground. Their favourite place to unwind? The Cony Lounge perfect for a good scratch and a well-deserved nap after all the chaos.

Semi – Salma’s shy yet adventurous cat

Finally, we have Semi, a one-and-a-half-year-old Siberian cat. Semi is curious and shy but at the same time he is also startled by the smallest things. Yet he is always up for adventure: as soon as the balcony door opens, he is ready to flee. In addition, he is known for his endless discussions: meowing, he responds to everything you say, as if he really wants to make his point. Semi feels completely in charge of the house on his Kilimandjaro cat tree where he keeps an eye on everything.

So many personalities, yet just one favourite

From chatterboxes to cats who shower, our team’s cats are just as strong-willed as any other. And while they’re all different, they share one big love: the scratching posts and lounging spots from RHR. Stylish for us, and essential for them💚

And you? What kind of mischief does your cat get up to?
