Lockdown Baby

During the 2021 lockdown, Bernadett and Russell decided to have a furbaby, for the cat dad Russell this was not his first furbaby. He had had several cats since childhood, but for Bernadett, this was going to be her first cat and their search for a kitten led to a cattery for Maine Coons. They made an appointment to go and see a black kitten. On arrival, they were accidentally shown another kitten, the couple fell in love instantly! And so Odin became their new furbaby.

The new boss in the house

Odin lives up to his name, he of course has a divine
appearance and this powerful name fits well with that. When Odin entered his
new home, he immediately felt at home and started to explore everything at his
leisure in between cuddling and purring. Still, after about a year, Bernadett
and Russell saw that Odin needed a boyfriend so that he wouldn't get bored.

Through Instagram they came into contact with a breeder who
had a perfect girlfriend for Odin! And now Amelia also enriches the lives of
Odin, Bernadett and Russell. Amelia, also known as Millie, was a bit more
sensitive at first. That's why they took it a little easier with Millie, so
that she could get used to her new home at her own pace. But nowadays Amelia is
the boss in the house!

Happy family

Bernadett and Russell knew they had done the right thing by getting two Maine Coons. Odin and Amelia are like their babies and although they would like more, it will stay at two for now. To do otherwise would mean the couple would have to sell their house, to buy a bigger one to give the cats even more space. Maine Coons need the space to move around nicely, and Bernadett and Russell want to be able to give them that. In this compound, then, everyone is totally happy, they all love to take long naps, do a lot for a good snack and are social, on their own terms. And best of all, cuddles from their furbabies. Getting a big hug is a whole new level of happiness.

Guten Morgen, menschlicher Diener

Yet Bernadett and Russell know what their place is, because
the cats know very well what they want. And they indicate this well! It starts
in the morning, which is also the reason why Bernadett and Russell don't need
an alarm clock. Every morning Odin wakes them up with loud screams because he
wants to eat! And doesn't he get it right away? Then he sets a higher tone. In
the meantime, he has also taught Amelia this, so they can go on a rampage
together if their servants don't provide the food quickly enough! 😉
 

Of course, they also get a lot in return! When they go to
work or come back from it, they get a big hug as standard. And also many funny
moments... Odin can walk on his hind legs, but unfortunately they have not yet
managed to capture this on camera. Bernadett and Russell call this "doing
the scary". We keep  an eye on the Instagram page of Odin and
Amelia, because of course we would like to see this too!
