Every week we look for interesting stories about cats and their owners. This time we spoke with Chris from Windsor, in the southeast of England. Wolfie has recently moved in with Chris and his girlfriend; he is only five months old. Wolfie's father has a very special job, as he is a professional animal photographer. "At the moment, he doesn't yet realize how many photoshoots he will have to do in his life."

A wolf with gray hair

Chris did not choose the name Wolfie himself. "The breeder's little son called him Wolfie because he thought he looked like a wolf. I thought the name suited him, so I decided to keep it." Wolfie certainly has similarities to a wolf, not only because he is a Maine Coon, but also because of the color of his coat. "There is also a similarity between us, we both have gray hairs," Chris says laughing.

When I saw him, I knew he would cause trouble

Chris

Chris fell in love instantly when he saw a photo of Wolfie. "It was funny that of all the kittens the breeder had, Wolfie was the one running around like crazy, playing and attacking toys while the others were sleeping peacefully. I told the breeder that he would clearly cause trouble since he was so active. She assured me that he was the same as the other kittens and that if they woke up, he would be sleeping. The roles would then be reversed."

Only advantages

Wolfie has the Chartreux Blackline in Dark Grey, but we are not sure if that is enough... "The great thing about buying a RHR Pets cat tree is that they are not only well made and look great, but they also come with a free cardboard box. I have had my cat tree for almost two months now and I still haven't thrown away the cardboard box. He plays with it every day. I think he would be very upset if I threw it away," says Chris.

Cats do not respond to 'no'

Tips and tricks

Wolfie is only 25 weeks old, but he already knows a few tricks. Chris has already taught him to sit and lie down, and he can also do high and low fives! Fetching is also starting to come naturally to him.

Curious about more tricks? Chris regularly posts videos on Wolfie's Instagram account!

A kitten in the house is often hard work, but Chris couldn't live without Wolfie anymore. "He has huge bursts of energy and loves to pounce on things, but I have learned to understand him," says Chris. "I have read a lot about cats to get to know him better, because they don't really respond to 'no'. I have come to the realization that all these things are natural kitten behavior. You can also schedule 'playtime'; that way you wear them out."

Wolfie loves being involved in everything Chris does, because he even goes with him to the smallest room! "I remember one time I was looking for him everywhere and couldn't find him. Eventually, he was standing on top of my bedroom door watching me look for him!" Chris says laughing.

Born model

Besides his love for Wolfie, Chris also has a passion for animal photography. The perfect combination if you ask me! "I don't think Wolfie realizes how many photoshoots he will have to endure... But for now, he is doing very well."

You can admire Chris's photos on his Instagram account.

"Wolfie is a constant source of entertainment and always makes me laugh. He is so sweet and affectionate and always in the mood for a cuddle. It's so nice to see his little face when I come home," says Chris.
