Every week we search for interesting stories about cats and their owners. This week we ended up in Southport Merseyside in the United Kingdom, with Tracy. Her family consists not only of people but also of eight cats. How many?! Eight, you read that right. Four Norwegian Forest Cats, three Maine Coons, and one non-pedigree. Time to get to know them all!
Norwegian Forest Cats
Baloo and Mulan are the oldest of the cat family, they are both eight years old. They are both Norwegian Forest Cats who happen to be brother and sister. It didn't take long before they were introduced to their two new brothers, Zorro and Orlando. They immediately got along well! "They have always felt at home right away and were accepted without any problems. Within a few hours they played and were cared for by the existing cat family as if they had always been there," says Tracy.

Maine Coons
A few years later, Tracy decided to make the family even bigger. She already had four cats and brought Simba into the house. Simba was the first Maine Coon in their family. "We love our cat family and could never have a house without a cat, because they are true members of the family," says Tracy. "They bring so much love and joy, especially when you have more than one, because their playful antics are very entertaining. Each cat is so individual and brings its own character."
Our cats are true members of the family
The newest additions to the family are Zorba and Khaleesi. Both are also Maine Coons, but they were born in 2021. "All cats live as harmoniously as possible, unless one of the youngsters thinks they know best," says Tracy.

Mario in ...
Tracy and her husband already had five different personalities in the house, and after their vacation in Venice, they brought another one home. "We got Luigi on the same day we returned from Italy, so we definitely wanted an Italian name."
Tracy grew up with cats and says she would undoubtedly choose a cat again. She told us that when she was younger, she even pushed her cat around in her doll stroller. "They offer so much companionship. Cats make your house a home," she says. "Especially with the children, it's such an advantage that we can already teach them how to care for animals." It's hard for her to say anything negative about the cats. "Maybe the 3am zoomies, but I think we knew that in advance," Tracy adds.

To each his own
Because they have eight cats, they felt they absolutely needed Cat trees. "We bought our trees because of the size of the Cat trees and the sleeping places, since our cats are of a large breed. It has to be sturdy and it has to be big, since there are eight of them."
Tracy bought the Corner Coon and the Royalty twice, both of which will definitely satisfy their cats. "It is also good to know that we can buy replacement parts, even though we haven't needed them so far," Tracy adds.

All the cats have their own favorite spot in the tree. "Zorba likes to sit on top so he can dangle his long legs over the edge. Simba and Khaleesi love the hammocks," Tracy says. Even though they have plenty of space in their tree, they also like to sleep in other places. An open box, the end of the bed, on top of the bed, in the sink, on their laptop, on their knees... "Basically anywhere they want!"
