Ragdoll sisters reunite after months

The little cat family

Simon and his wife felt the time was right to start a family, preferably a cat family. They had both been following various breeders online for quite some time, searching for the perfect kitten. "A house full of cats is really something for us!" said Simon. Unfortunately, their search did not go smoothly...

Too young

During their search, they found a kitten that seemed perfect for them. That turned out not to be entirely the case... "Unfortunately, when the time was almost right, we were told that we couldn't take the kitten home yet because she was still too small. We were so disappointed! We had been looking forward to giving the kitten a forever home for a long time," says Simon. Fortunately, they didn't have to go home empty-handed. "Luckily, the breeder still had another kitten available, one of her sisters, who was also looking for a home. We decided to take her and named her Emiko. Still, we kept thinking about the other kitten. What would it have been like if we had taken her?"

Playmate

After a while, Simon and Carol thought it was a good idea to find a playmate for Emiko. Believe it or not, but the kitten they initially wanted to take was available again! “I regularly checked the breeder’s updates and one day I saw that the kitten was finally big enough. I immediately sent him a message and luckily we got positive news! Now Emiko not only has her sister at home, but also a playmate forever.

Despite Emiko and Kiko being sisters, Simon and Carol thought it wise to let the two get to know each other calmly. "They hadn't seen each other for several months, so we chose to keep a close eye on them. Emiko was very shy, but at the same time a little curious to meet her little sister. Kiko was very curious and not scared at all. After a few huffs and growls, they agreed as sisters are supposed to," Simon explains.

Children and cleaning ladies

Simon and Carol cannot imagine life without their two cats. "We really treat them as if they were our children," says Simon. "Emiko and Kiko even help us with the household! They keep our house clean, as they are always chasing spiders and flies. It may sound a bit gross, but it is quite convenient."

Keeping an eye on the world

The two ragdolls also received a sturdy cat tree from their owners, namely the Devon Rex. “The Devon Rex has sturdy Sisal posts and is ideal for our two cats since it has a large bed with a thick and soft cushion, where they can easily lie down and cuddle. The cat tree is placed in our living room, so they can keep a good eye on everything together.”
