Special place
Hannah's cat is named after the volcano Etna on the Italian island of Sicily. This place is extra special to Hannah, as this is where she was proposed to. Combined with the colour of its fur, Etna is the perfect name for the British Shorthair born in 2020. When the litter with Etna was born, many corona rules still applied. For Hannah, this meant that she was not allowed to make any personal visits to the litter and almost all contact had to be done over the phone. Fortunately, she received many photos and videos of him, and his charming face sold Hannah.
Since they took Etna in during COVID-19, Hannah can agree that he helped them through it. ‘Etna means everything to us, on bad days he is always there for and cuddle. His playful nature and cute antics fill our hearts with so much joy!’ Hannah tells us.
No more baby
When Etna turned 1, and really could no longer fit on his scratching post, Hannah and her fiancé decided to give their furry baby a fun birthday present. In the form of a new scratching post, that became the Maine Coon Lounge. In the ideal spot in the conservatory, Etna has then found his new favourite spot ‘It's great, he has an overview of the garden and birds from the big bed.’
Besides the fact that the scratching post fits well with the interior of the house, Hannah says Etna sits on his scratching post like a true king and can look out over his kingdom from there! When Hannah then finds him there after a day's work, she immediately greets him. ‘The best thing is to hear him purr when he greets us, it's unconditional love’ she tells.
Special need
Meanwhile, we see on Etna's growing Instagram account that he has now become big brother! That he now has to share the attention he does gladly. As long as he is allowed to keep passing on his preferences. Because Etna has them! Especially with regard to drinking water. That should only be fresh, cold water from the tap. The fussy Etna jumps on the kitchen counter to indicate that he is ready to drink. In case you don't realise, he meows so Hannah rushes over to turn on the filtered water tap and let him drink from it. What a delightfully fussy boy!As we said, Etna looks like the inventor of the word ‘cattitude’!
